CRYSTAL FANATICS BUZZ: Daniel Swarovski Crystal Product line

CRYSTAL FANATICS BUZZ: Daniel Swarovski Crystal Product line: "About the Daniel Swarovski Crystal Product line Daniel Swarovski Art Objects ~ 3 well-kno..."

Daniel Swarovski Crystal Product line

About the Daniel Swarovski Crystal Product line

Daniel Swarovski Art Objects ~ 3 well-known Italian designers were commissioned to produce this line of products: Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, and Stefano Ricci. All studied architecture before turning their talents to crystal. Each piece is signed and numbered, and issued with the artist's signature, as well as Mr. Helmuth Swarovski's signature. If you got a LOT of money, you can collect these items. A VERY limited number of each piece was issued (ie., 100, 250, 500) and issue prices ranged from $1060 (rare) ALL THE WAY to $42,800.00 (yep, you're reading that right!) ~ For the VERY "ELITE" collector!

For example, The Swarovski Centrotavola Centerpiece, designed by Mendini was issued in the Daniel Swarovski product line in 1989.  So are you wondering just how rare it is?  Swarovski only produced 250 of them with an issue price of $15,000.  The Centrotavola bowl is a Swarovski Numbered Limited Edition. Each come with a numbered certificate, matching the number engraved on the bowl.    This magnificent centerpiece measures a little more than 10" in diameter.

You would think that a
Swarovski limited edition figurine of 250 units would hold the original retail price, but it hasn't done so.

So what does this mean to
Crystal Fanatics
There are a lot of factors that contribute to whether or not a retired Swarovski piece holds its value.  In this case, the biggest factors certainly include the current state of the economy, and the overall appeal to the collector.  With the economy still weak, the trading prices on the majority of retired Swarovski collectibles, as well as the Collectibles industry itself, is pretty much 'down the tubes'.   Why ?
Swarovski crystal is not a necessity, but a luxury; subsequently, collectors are spending less money on it and/or selling off their collections.  Moreover, there are many collectors who still prefer to collect the animal figurines and sculptures.

The Daniel Swarovski Product Line also introduced a Home Accessories series in 2002. Again, the price points for this line were not for the faint of heart.

At CrystalFanaticsClub.com, you will find Photos of ALL the Swarovski Issues, including the Daniel Swarovski line, in our FABULOUS Photo Galleries, featuring Photos in Full Color, the Swarovski Product Name, Product Number, Designer, Current Value, Year of Issue and Retirement (if applicable)

Swarovski Paradise

The Paradise Collection is one of the most Favorite among Collectors of Swarovski Crystal.

Swarovski introduced the Paradise Collection in 2000.  In this initial launch , all the Paradise figurines were insects:
Bees & Bumblebees, Beetles, Butterflies, Dragonflies, Flies, Grasshoppers, &  Scarabs, the first line issued using Full Color.

More Butterflies were issued in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

The Paradise Birds Collection began in 2001 with a second issue in 2003. Some of these are highly collectible and command high values for the retired pieces.

Swarovski introduced the Paradise 'Exotic Fish' and South Seas series in 2004.  There were approximately 19 different figurines in this collection with many of them retired by 2007.

More issues followed in 2005, 2008, & 2010

New 2011 issues in this product line include the Emperor & French Angel Fish, the Vintage Rose Pearl Oyster, and the Sea Goldies.

The Paradise 'Exotic Flowers' were launched in 2006.   Six flowers were introduced in the first Swarovski Paradise Flowers release. The Dacali, Dalmally (Bird of Paradise), Dambulla (Buttercup), Deoli (Amethyst Daisy), Dindori (Blue Flower), and the Dorara (Fuschia Flower). Some are tall and the stem can be removed from the base and others are magnets
. They are well loved among Crystal Fanatics; however, some Fanatics think this line has very little crystal applied to them for the price. The retail price ranges from $50 to $250.00.

The 'Big Birds', introduced in 2005, are part of the Silver Lake Collection (Tropical Birds).
More were introduced in 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2009.
The Pink Cockatoo, Kingfishers, and Black Diamond Toucan are examples of some of them.
A real favorite in this collection are the Bee Eaters introduced in 2008.

At CrystalFanaticsClub.com, you will find Photos of ALL the Paradise Issues in our FABULOUS Photo Galleries, many of them contributed by our very own CFC members, as you see here, featuring Photos in Full Color, the Swarovski Product Name, Product Number, Designer, Current Value, Year of Issue and Retirement (if applicable)

for every issue.

Swarovski 'Hello Kitty' Collaboration with Sanrio

Watch Out Folks! Here comes Hello Kitty!

The maker of
Hello Kitty has collaborated with Swarovski to produce several New Swarovski issues, to be released in the Fall/Winter 2011/2012 season.
Included in the list of items to be launched are ....

Swarovski Hello Kitty Purses, Card Holders, Assorted Jewelry and 3 Limited Editions - One of them will cost $12,000 and only 88 of them will be available for purchase.

Jewelry includes 7 necklaces and pendants, 3 bracelets, 2 rings and several pairs of earrings.

Natalie Cohen (from Swarovski) states, "As a fan from day one, I saw an obvious connection between the magical sparkle of crystal and the bright, playful world of Hello Kitty."

We've heard that the Swarovski Hello Kitty collection will be available in Sanrio's 1,900 stores, beginning in August.

We recently asked a full Chat Room of
Crystal Fanatics what they thought of the NEW Hello Kitty product line that is now featured in our Crystal Fanatics Photo Galleries.., we didn't have an overwhelming positive response.
What do You Think ???

Will the packaging be different? Or, will it have a special 'Hello Kitty' design?

Will there be a Swarovski logo too ?

STAY TUNED!
